Crypto Staking & Yield (APY) Calculator

To estimate staking rewards, apply the advertised APY to your staked amount over your holding period. With compounding (rewards restaked), ending balance = amount × (1 + APY)^years; with simple yield (rewards paid out), it is amount × (1 + APY × years). Rewards are the difference between the ending and starting balance. Remember that APY already assumes compounding, real rates fluctuate with network participation, and in most countries staking rewards are taxable as income at the value when you receive them.

APY already reflects compounding; "simple" applies the rate linearly without restaking. Estimates only — actual rewards vary with network conditions.

How it works

Enter your staked amount, the APY, and a duration in days. Choose compounded (rewards are restaked and earn more rewards) or simple (rewards are paid out and not restaked).

Add a coin price to convert the reward into a currency value. Estimates only: advertised APY can change, validators take a commission, and lock-up or slashing risks may apply. This is not financial advice.

Compounded balance = amount × (1 + APY)^(days ÷ 365)

Estimates for general information only — not financial or tax advice.

Frequently asked questions

What's the difference between APR and APY?

APR is the simple annual rate; APY includes the effect of compounding, so APY is higher than APR for the same reward rate.

Are staking rewards taxed?

In most countries (US, UK, Australia, Canada) staking rewards are taxed as ordinary income at their market value when received, then as a capital gain or loss when you later sell. See our staking and taxes guide.

Why is my real return lower than the APY?

Validator commission, network rate changes, gas/withdrawal fees and price moves all affect the realised return. The calculator shows a gross estimate.

Does staking guarantee these rewards?

No. APY is variable and rewards can fall; some networks also impose lock-ups or slashing penalties.
